The designer on his scooter
I created this patent-pending scooter after sustaining a life-changing injury in 2006 when I had a ladder slide out from under me, fifteen feet off the ground. I broke both my heels, and after recovering from surgery and using a wheelchair for six months, I was able to do limited walking. I found that I needed some type of walking assist because my feet hurt after standing for very long and I could only do a small amount of walking.
I built a seated scooter for myself because I couldn't find a mobility product on the market that was lighter and more maneuverable than a wheelchair or power scooter, and less awkward than a knee scooter. I soon realized that my design could help lots of other people who have walking disabilities.
Life can bring you short-term or permanent physical setbacks, and my Walk Aid scooter can help many people overcome those setbacks through the gift of better mobility. My scooter has greatly upgraded the quality of my life and I think it could do the same for you.
